Redwoods 2012 Photography
More people have climbed Mt. Everest than have climbed Giant Sequoias. Way more. I’ve spent part of three summers in the top of these beauties taking part in research for UC Berkeley as well as teaching the Giant Sequoia Tree Climbing class for COE. The course went into the field with a dozen people, and was structured to allow the students to progress through the whole experience of climbing a tree, from shooting and rigging, to climbing, repositioning, and ultimately spending a night in the very top.
